texas, a vacancy arises in a district's board of trustees, the law requires the remaining board to appoint within 180 days..it is an election year, the law says candidates must file 45 days prior to election...the laws says the appointee must take part in the next election...if the 180 day deadline extends beyond the 45 day deadline..and an individual is appointed at the 180th day..can the vacant position still take part in the next election or does he forfeit his right to run because he missed the 45 day deadline?
