25 year old in michigan first ofense. decided to drive friends home who were drunk, he stopped drinking early in the evening and was pulled over for going 5mph over(routine stop he was told). passed all sobority tests but blew a .01 over the limit and was arrested. everyone else blew between 1.6 and 2.4. the officer even said he did the right thing but the law is the law. what could he be looking at.

It's certainly hard to believe an officer would state that your "friend" did the right thing by driving under the influence. Even if he/she was the least intoxicated. How does your friend know he/she passed the FST's? The officer's arrest would have been based on more than the PBT. I don't know the laws in your state, but the punishment would vary. I would suggest your friend get a lawyer to go over the officer's case report.
