My husband died in Nov. 2001. We have one child together. With the exception of the first year we were married (1993) we always filed as "Married filing separately" because he had many past tax problems that I did not want to be associated with. I plan to file as head of household, but do I have to file a tax return for him? He had no estate or assets. I don't want to sign his tax return and be liable for his past tax problems, which I understand were from long before we were married. I was his 4th wife.
