As ex-pres of a band booster not for profit organization we regulary carried over operating funds from year to year. I have been told by a CPA and attorney there is nothing illegal in this. We are now being told by a layman that this is not an accurate statement of the law and that we MUST spend all funds at end of each fiscal year in order to maintain not for profit status. Can anyone help with this?
