parking ticket

i live in lubbock texas and parked very badly(kind of on the sidewalk) last night. i received a violation code 072, but it states that it is a traffic violation, is it?
i also was not sure if a parking ticket goes on your record and raises your insurance, i have insurance with state farm.
please help, this is my first police issued parking ticket, please help me.

Parking tickets are non moving violations and generally do not count against your insurance.
