my parents are on ss(non-taxable) do they still send in their income tax return? are there some kind of credits that they can still recieve? This year they have moved from new jersey to florida

If the SS is all their income, they do not have to file a return; however, they may qualify for the “Credit for the Elderly or the Disabled.” To determine if they qualify, you can download for free IRS Publication 524, Credit for the Elderly or the Disabled, at IRS Forms and Pubs: http://www.irs.ustreas.gov/forms_pubs/index.html
