My wife and I are considering opening a Private Guradianship Business in the state of Illinois. Although our intention is to handle public guardian (through Medicare Part B) cases also, the largest part of our business will be through Private Guardian cases in which we would bill the ward directly. We are considering taking over a case load from a business owner that is retiring, and he suggested incorporating as non-profit. And although he and his wife make a comfortable living with this business, he states that his current business is set up as a non-profit corporation? Is this legal? Is this ethical???
