If a college professor removes a disruptive student from the classroom, is this "harrassment"? Or "defamation"?

A college student is ill and has a note from a doctor for four weeks of absences from class. The professor reduces her grade for "excessive absenteeism". Is this "harrassment" or "defamation" or appropriate behavior on the part of the teacher?

My response:

Nice try, but I can tell by your phrasing that you're the student.

After missing 4 weeks of class, how would you possibly be able to pass the course? You missed too much information. The professor's actions were proper.
