I just sold a car to a couple not realizing that what i had given them was the Application for Title, and not the actual Title. The Title was applied for 10 days ago in my name and we are just waiting for it in the mail to come so we can give it to them to sign.

They agreed to purchase the car as is with no warranty and also signed in a written agreement which stated that the Title would be given to them for signing upon receipt.

Is this illegal? Do they have any cause to make a legal action against us? The title was already ordered when they purchased the car.
