debts of dependant

My 42 year old single son has had some financial difficulties. he now qualifies as my dependant. he has credit card debts as well as irs debts. if i deduct him on my tax form, do i become responsible for his previous debts?

No you do not. Taking him as a dependent will not make you liable for his debts.
