In re Gault, it states that any court proceeding which could result in confinement of a juvenile the juvenile has the right to cross-examine witnesses (I assume this means the juvenile's attorney). Does this include a hearing which decides whether the juvenile remains in custody at a delenquent facility until the trial? I have been told the victim who is a juvenile does not have to come to any hearings. Which is true? This is in Alabama.
