Felony or Misdemeanor

I have a question, I am 19 years old, I was involved in a scandel at my work and I got fired for taking $199.99 dollars worth of merchandise. what is the dollar amount that distinguishes whether it is a felony or a misdemeanor? I've been told that it is 150 dollars and 400 and i'd would like to know what the real amount it so i know.

I think that the after 250 is what counts as a felony.
