victim of crime but dropped charges

i live in missouri, while waiting to go to trail i decided to drop charges. i started to feel like a i was on trail and i couldnt take it. the accussed was sent to prison to wait for the trail, he was on parole. he's still there. when will he get out since i dropped charges. can he sue me for slander when he does get out??? word got back to me thats what hes going to do, can he do this?? this man is pure evil and im scared to death of him!!!! so scared i have a restaining order against him and moved away where nnobody knows xcept close family ..PLEASE ANSWER
