I have a current restraining order in California on a neighbor. I have had it for 3 years. We took him back because we felt that with numerous police reports and videos showing him violating the restraining order, we obviously did not want the restraining order to expire and wanted additional time placed. We lost the case because we did not prove "beyond a reasonable doubt" that we needed the restraining order. Now, we have to go to a hearing because he requested attorney fees to be payed by US not HIM ($2,500!!!) Is it true that attorney fees are only awarded if our case WAS NOT brought up in good faith? Do you have any tips to fight this suit? We obviously had good reason to bring this case up. History proves this guy has done harassment and needed this restraining order in the past....
