What is the name of your state? Washington

My son took his van to a auto repair shop to have it fixed, the owner told him and 2 other witnesses that he would park the van inside his building every night becouse it is a custom van with expensive equipment inside. He parked the van inside for several days then left it outside with the doors unlocked and the alarm off. over $2,000 of radio/cd player ect was stolen. He informed my son that he was not responsible and will not pay for the loss.

My quistion is: Is he responsible to pay my son for replacement? My son has all receipts for the equipment also. And do we sue in small claims court for this or other?

If He took responsibility , then he has to take reasonable care .

Take it to small claims court with documents , receipts , and witnesses .
