What is the name of your state? IL and TN

When I lived in IL in 1998 I did bookkeeping for my boyfriend. (I live in TN now) In exchange I didn't have to contribute to rent food or other living expenses. He deducted a cash value from his expenses on his taxes. I, however, did not claim income on my taxes. I did sign a statement for one of his audits saying I did the work and was paid. Do I need to file an ammendment to my 98 taxes even though I didn't get actual cash?

I want to make sure everything is in order before this comes back and bits me in the butt.

Thanks

Opps, Wrong message board

I posted this message on the wrong board. Sorry about that. I've re-posted this on the "Taxes" message board.
