What is the name of your state? HI

As a private owner I sold a used vehicle to a private buyer. The ownership had changed through local DMV. Two days later the buyer wants to return it due to the fact the vehicle was not in an overall condition the buyer expected. If the buyer doesn't get a full refund I am being taken to court for this matter.

My question is can he do that?? The only terms or contract that we both agreed on and signed was the the buyer was to pay a down payment on the vehicle and in monthly installments of $XXX until the final amount was paid off.

Did the buyer have the car inspected?
Did you sell the car As-Is?

Yes he did had the vehicle inspected two days after the purchase and change of ownership. As far as "as-is" I assume the buyer is aware of what was being purchased. Isn't it the buyer's responsiblity to make sure and to research into what he his buying before the change of ownership?
