What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Wisconsin

Our company was called by a US rep. of a company from another country to clean tile. After attempting to clean tile doing only half because it was not cleaning successfully, stopped, called US rep that hired us, met with US rep., and someone from the company, discussed the outcome, came to the conclusion it was defective and could not be cleaned. Company has now replaced the tile. We are trying to get paid for the work done and they only want to pay 1/2. Now they say they knew the tile was defective when they hired us, that it was a bad lot and that they had hired other companies in other locations to clean the tile and it was successfully cleaned, and now they say we did a poor quality job and didn't know how to clean the tile. They only want to pay half because of the effort we went through.

We have been in business for 35 years and are IICRC certified and feel we know what we are doing, have a fine reputation for the work we do. We attempted to clean the floor with more then one method with no success. We were never told tile was defective before we started, nor were we told at the time of the meeting they felt we did an inadaquate job.

Our correspondance has been through e-mails, and the Rep has contridicted him self more then twice in our converstations regarding this issue.

We want to get paid the full amount which is over $2000.00,

Can we go to small claims against a company in another country? The Rep that hired us is in the US. where would we file?
