Can someone anonymously notify an employer via mail of an empoyees recent criminal conviction?

Can they be sued if there's no proof??

Sure, criminal convictions are public information.

Can they be sued if there's no proof??
Anyone can sue anybody for just about any reason, whether the person will prevail or not is another question. In cases such as this, it takes a lot of money and the odds of winning are extremely slim. Also, small claims court is not the forum for this type of lawsuit, you will have to use a higher court if you choose to sue.
