What is the name of your state? PA

I AM IN A BUSINESS OFFICE IN A HEALTH CARE FACILITY. WE DO OUR OWN COLLECTIONS. OUR QUESTION IS CAN WE GO AFTER THE FAMILIES FOR MONIES DUE TO US? FOR INSTANCE WE HAVE ONE FAMILY WHO SIGNED TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR DAD, HOWEVER, IS IGNORING THE BILL. CAN WE TAKE THEM AND FILE AGAINST THEM SINCE IT IS DAD'S BILL AND SIGNED AS RESPONSIBLE PARTY?
WE HAVE ANOTHER FAMILY WHO HAS A $18K BILL. HOW DO WE GO ABOUT GETTING A LIEN ON PROPERTY? WE CAN'T GO TO SMALL CLAIM FOR IT, SO NOW WHAT?
THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!

1) Turn off your caps key!!
2) The determination of whether you can go after a family member to collect a bill will depend on your agreement. You will need a local attorney to look at your agreement.
3) If your claim is in excess of your small claims limit, you will need to file your claim in a higher court. This will also require the services of an attorney.

Suggestion:
Since you are in business (and therefore should have allowed for legal expenses), you need to have a local attorney review your agreement(s) and to take care of your legal issues.
