What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Ohio

I'm trying to figure out if I should fight a small claims case with a university or just pay the fees so I don't risk my credit.

I enrolled at the U of Cincinnaiti in Fall 2006 I registered for classes online that I later found out that I wasn't eligible to take due to prerequisites for the classes. I figured that since I wasn't eligible I wouldn't have to withdrawl, because they wouldn't let me take the courses either way. I thought the registration was void. Now, they are trying to sue me for that semester of classes as a late withdrawl. Is it worth my fighting it or should I just pay the $1200?What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?
