What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? INDIANA

I won a small claims case, but the defendant tells me that the court which ruled in my favor (in indiana) has no jurisdiction to garnish his wages / assets because they are in illinois. Is this the truth or is he just trying to avoid paying me? I'm going down to the courthouse to ask tommrow anyways but I just wanted to know right now. Thanks

Every state owes 'full faith & credit' to a 'sister-state judgment'.

You would have to file the judgment in the jurisdiction where the assets are, and then file liens against the property and execute on the judgment.

The easiest way is to hire an attorney in that area.
