What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? KY
About a month and a half ago my dog broke loose from it's chain/rope. It ran over to a neighbor's yard and supposedly bit their cat's leg. Upon review of the alleged bite, it was merely scratched and no skin was broken. Two days after that the neighbor's bring us a Vet bill in the amount of $298.00 and asked us if we could help in any way. We agreed that we would give them the most we could. My husband and I are not wealthy so we gave them what we could which was $150.00. Now she is asking for the rest of the money. I don't think I should have to pay since we told them that we would help them out. We never agreed on paying the full amount. Neighbor's state that it was their understanding that we would give them a "down payment" and the rest later. Those words never came out of our mouth. Am I financially/legally responsible for this cat???
