i was dating my ex for a very short period of time when he proprosed to me. i said yes. we did not get to the planning part before i realized that he had lied to me about something. i broke off the engagement and he wants the ring back or he says he is going to take me to court. do i have to return it by tn state law? can he sue me if i refuse to return it?

Yes he can sue happens all the time. No wif he wins or not depends on details of the case. Honestly why would you want to keep the ring unless your just mean or greedy!
