I am inquiring about what legal actions could be taken on two people who were involved in an elementary school PTA last school year (2003-2004) and stole money from the PTA. They never deposited money that was collected as a fundraiser, and they wrote checks over the summer that resulted in them being returned NSF. The PTA is now $11,000 in the hole because of their actions. They have admitted to the wrongdoing after an audit was completed. Can the new PTA board or school take legal action against these two individuals on behalf of the children from the school to try and recoup some or all of the money??
