What is the name of your state? Florida

Our company had a case heard in Sm. claims several months ago. We were told that a ruling would be mailed to us in 7-10 business days. After that deadline passed with no ruling, I made a series of calls that ended with a 30-45 day timeline. That time has now passed as well and there is no judgement. It has now been 3 months. How long does it take/what can I do to get a judgement? The defendant has fled the state and we are anxious to proceed with obtaining a judgement so that we may collect before they disappear completely. Please help. Thanks. What is the name of your state?

Weeks, much less months, is a ridiculous amount of time for a SC judgment. Check with the Court clerk to be sure that it hasn’t been entered and sent. If it hasn’t, write a brief letter to the presiding judge questioning the reason for the delay.
Things do get lost, mishandled and misfiled; courts are as fallible as any other organization. But judges also can sit on matters “under submission” for longer than they should. You need to address both possibilities without prejudicing your case.
