Is it your apt or her apt?
Are you on the lease?
Do you have proof that the computer was a present or just yours to use since you lived there?
What else does she have that is actually personal property that you can prove is yours?
Have you asked for a police escort to retreive your belongiongs?

The first intelligent thing you can do is to ignore 'rmets' post. She has NO legal experience at all and only plays like she has medical knowledge.
Her questions have nothing to do with answering your post.

So, with that... the ONLY things you can do are:
1) If you can PROVE they are yours (receipts, etc.), contact the local police and see if they will escort you to try to recover your property. Some departments will, some simply say it is a civil matter.
2) If you are unable to recover that way, your next step (or even simultaneous) is to send her a written demand (certified RRR) for the return of your items, including a SPECIFIC inventory, and setting a deadline or "I will be forced to consider legal action".
3) If all that fails, your only other option is to consider filing a lawsuit to recover the value to the property.

Take her to court. She gave you a computer as a birthday gift, so she can't take it back nor ask you for the purchase price of the gift.

The OP's problem is that he is "unfortunately" going to have to prove that it was his Birthday gift.

We can all assume that it probably was, but proving it is going to be a whole other ballgame!
