What is the name of your state? I live in Stafford, Virginia.
I and my ex-wife; had bought a vehicle together 1 month before we split. She never paid on it; and didn't put any money down. I had this vehicle for about a yr and a half after our seperation. She called me one day, asking me to sell it, so that it wouldn't be on her credit anymore. I told her that I wouldn't be able to do it at this time due to financial restrictions. Six months down the road, I was able to sell it. I called her asking her to sign the paperwork for me to sell this vehicle(which she had no vested interest in). She stated that she couldn't do it unless I paid some of her bills, which of course she agreed at seperation to pay for herself. Bills that were in her name/ and I as well would pay my own. I wanted to get rid of this car only because her name was on it. I was under duress, with no other option that I could see; so I signed a contract that said I was to pay her credit card for her. Is this contract binding and legal? I didn't see any way around this. Please help with advice.
