What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California

Hi,
I have recently become aware that I have been scammed (or am in the process of being scammed) by 4-5 scary/threat phone calls saying that there is a lawsuit againts my name. Lets say,if I am truly considered to be a person who could possibly be a claimant in any type of lawsuit, will I be generally notified by mail or by phone? How to recognize a lawsuit?

Thanks much,

Thanks much,
I'm sorry, but I do not understand how you think you have been scammed by someone saying they are going to sue you. Just call the local courthouse and check to see if there are any legal proceedings currently pending in which you are a named party.
