how can I file a two party claim

About a year ago a friend of mine borrowed $4500.00 to buy a new truck. He assured me that he and his then-wife would pay it back ASAP. They ended up getting divorced 4 months later and neither one of them wants to pay it back. Now, he lives in a different city than she does. How should I do this and who should I pursue? Do I have a claim? The check was made out to my friend.

PRS: Ignore the link provided by Blonde Lebanese. I don't know where he got it, but it isn't right for Texas.

Contact your county clerks office and ask for the location of the JP (Justice of the Peace) courts. File at the one closest to his residence.
