What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Ohio
Okay I am a college student and I took over someone else's lease.. I was promised that if I took over the lease that I he would pay me two months rent, and the cost of the application fee.... I haven't received any payment and I think the only way to get the money owed to me is to sue. I have all the emails and other information that clearly state that I was suppose to receive payment from the other individual.. I know his legal name but I don't have an address.. How can I get this information??? What is the next step in this process???

finding his address is first ...

how to find his address? (you should have gotten your $$$ before taking over the lease .. lesson learned at college lol)

-should be some contact info on his lease application - see the landlord?
-know where he works?- you could serve him there
-other than that its up to you to find his address (voting records etc.)
-find him & ask him for his address
-ask other people
-call his relatives & see if he is living there ....
