I loaned a friend $312. They now refuse to pay it back for the simple reason that they don't want to. I am 17 years old. There was no written agreement but I have witnesses that knew about the agreement. I also have dated and timestamped chat logs where he never denies the amont and only says he will not be paying it. Can I bring him to small claims court?

I believe you need to be over the age of 18 to bring someone to small claims court. Perhaps I am mistaken? This is at least true in my state (VT).
