My husband and I were renting a house from his mother. We never had a lease agreement, so she always changed the price, which we paid. she helped us out by giving a furniture set & a bedroom set. The rest of the furniture in that house was ours. October of last year, there was a domestic dispute between my husband and me, we BOTH threw OUR things and the police were notified. I had told the police that I needed some clothes at least. He told me that I had five minutes to get what I needed for tonight. I left and two days later, with an escort of a police officer, i demanded my clothes -no clothes, no jewerely, NOTHING of mine was there. 2 weeks later, I was arrested for a felony criminal mischief charge, his mother pressed charges against only me!! She claimed, that I ruined EVERYTHING of hers and she even colleced insurance money on MY FURNITURE!! - I have pictures that prove what she claimed was ruined, and all of it is in perfect condition!! Can I sue her for at least the cost of an attorney and money that was needed to get me out of jail? Btw, the charges were dropped because of insufficant evidence, imagine that?
