My ex-fiance cancelled the wedding a week before the event now he dosent want to be responsible for the expenses of the event because i have the engament ring can i file a claim agains him for all the cancellation fees or do i have to return the ring in order for him to pay me.

Why should he alone be responsible? In a legal sense? Who signed for the expenses? Who was paying for the wedding? Was there a contract between the two of you stipulating what would happen in the case of a cancellation? Why did he cancel?
