I live in Colorado...I was recently fired for being overpaid on my wages and the employer also wants reimbursed. The accounting dept. made the error when I was intially hired. I was aware of the mistake but I didn't sign or recieve any documatation regarding my specific wages. Also, the employer fired me on the basis of theft to the company. Can they sue me for the balance and can I Counter-sue for wrongful dismissal because it was their error?

*** Yes.

"can I Counter-sue for wrongful dismissal because it was their error?"
*** No. Unless your termination was in violation of a protected discrimination, there is no such thing as 'wrongful termination'.
