I received a parking ticket from the city parking violations department that alleges that I had a "Parking Meter Violation." When I called the parking enforcement department, they told me I didn't pay the $2.00 parking cost. Luckily, I took a picture on my cell phone that proves that: a. I paid the meter, b. there was still over an hour left on the meter as of the time the ticket was written. Moreover, I have a credit card statement from my bank that shows I did, in fact, paid the parking cost. My question is: Can I sue the City Parking Enforcement for intentionally writing a dubious parking ticket in a state's small claims court? I was thinking of suing the city for $100 for the trouble I went through to gather evidence and cost of transportation to/from the court?
