Quick, Easy Question...help!

For a vandalism case...do they have to PROVE THAT I COMMITTED THE CRIME? OR is suspicion enough to bust me for a crime i didnt commit. The deal was someone stole property of mine at one point without me knowing, and threw it at a car. NOW IM BEING SUED!

No one saw anything happen and there is no evidence to prove WHO DID IT!

HELP!

Do you guys have links to the 'EGG' Case? All I want to KNOW is if they HAVE TO PHYSICALLY PROVE THAT I THREW MY OWN PROPERTY AND CAUSED THE DAMAGE MYSELF. There were NO WITNESSES. Can I be busted for a crime I didnt commit?
