What is the name of your state? texas
i recently won a small claims decision against another party who damaged my property. his attorney sent me a letter that stated "once paid in full it will be your responsibility to prepare and a execute a release of judgment in my clients favor."

what exactly does that mean? what do i have to do to get this done? does this basically wipe that guys record clean? can i say i will not do this? will this cost me money? do I need an attorney?

as you can see i have a lot of questions, any help would be appreciated.

thanks!

"what exactly does that mean?"
*** It means exactly what it says... when the judgment is paid in full, you need to sign a "Satisfaction of Judgment" stating the judgment is paid.

"what do i have to do to get this done?"
*** You can ask the debtors attorney to submit a document for your signature... or you can make one up yourself.

"does this basically wipe that guys record clean?"
*** What do you mean by 'record'?? It will note that the judgment is paid.... and that is all.

"can i say i will not do this?"
*** Of course you can. But you would be fool since they would refuse to pay the judgment. And this would cost you more and delay this process further.

"will this cost me money?"
*** No.

"do I need an attorney?"
*** No, this is a very simple process.
