What is the name of your state? TX

I paid a lady $500 to do a government grant and addresses to send the grant to. I finally received a grant but it was for a non-profit corporation instead of a for profit (I am a for profit corporation). She did not draw up a contract so I do not have it in writing. I did pay her by check though. I am now sitting with a grant in my hand, poorly written, with no where to send it. I tried calling her and she will ot answer my call or return my call. I just want what I paid for. I have the papers she gave me to mail and also the corrections I had to make to them. Do I have enough to file a small claim to get my money back?

Do I need to add more info before I can get replies, this is my first time posting?
