I live on a college campus with two roommates. The roommate that I share a room with used my debit card without my consent or knowledge. She took it from my purse and charged $309.30 on it to buy a plane ticket to Florida for spring break. The only way I knew was I checked my account and saw the charge. On further investigation I found out the charge was for a plane ticket in her name. I went to my bank and filed fraud papers so the charge will be cleared. However, I want to file charges but I don't know what to file. What could happen to her? Also should I go to the resident adviser and have her moved from my apartment? I don't think it is an outrageous request considering what she has done. Thank you for your help and sorry it is such a long post.

You will need to call the police and file a report. If your campus has a dedicated police force, it will probably be them that you report it to as well. Also, ask the police to notify the administration of the school and then you can ask about different living arrangements.
