What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?
California. Roots from a carob tree on the parkway in front of my home have broken the sewer line from my home in Santa Monica. I'm having it repaired now.
Can I sue in small claims the city for this damage? If I remove the tree, I will be fined. Can the city remove the tree so it doesn't happen again? It's costing me twice the small claims limit.
