slander lawsuit need help

a person in our trailer park said to the manager of the park "He"s a convicted child molester and points guns at children"after I had just walked away.The manager told me about this a few minutes later.I filed a lawsuit against this person for slander and defamation of character.>>>>>>>>>JUST TO SET THE RECORD I AM NOT A CHILD MOLESTER<<<<<And I will prove it in court.My question is do I HAVE TO PROVE THIS PERSONS INTENT TO HARM OR IS HAVING TWO WITNESSES GOOD ENOUGH ?
