I recently took out a payday loan advance. Due to a emergency surgery, my husband lost his job, while I was on maternity leave, and therefore we did not have the funds to make the payment. We notified the pawn shop/payday loan indivduals and began making payments with the collections manager. We did not sign a payment agreement because we didn't know where I next check would be coming from, however we made payments on a bi-weekly basis under our verbal agreement with the manager. Within two months it was paid and receipt as such provided. Come to find out the owner of the pawn took it upon herself to file a small claims against us prior to the final payment. It was dismissed after the manager notified of our situation, however it is now on my record that a claim was made against me. Do I have any recourse to sue them for damaging my record?

I am guessing she means credit history, not record.
I thought that might be the case too. I didn't think "lawsuits" went on your report - only "judgements"
