What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? CT

I filed a SCC in April and the Defendant was served on April 18th with up until May 9th to answer. The status of the defendant appears as 'Denied'. What does this mean?

I filed a SCC in April and the Defendant was served on April 18th with up until May 9th to answer. The status of the defendant appears as 'Denied'. What does this mean?
It means that the defendant has denied whatever it is that you think he has no legal right to deny.

In other words, the issues are framed - one claims this and the other claims that - and the case is ready for trial at which time the judge will decide whether it is this or that.

(You see it's not all the complicated once you've gone through it a few hundred times.)
