I left the country and left my car with a friend who was taking over payments and switching to their name. They did neither. I came back to find I owed Toyota for the repossessed vehicle (difference between the remainder owed and how much it was auctioned for). I tried to work out them paying me back but they have only paid $800 on a $3700 balance. I need to take them to small claims court. We signed no agreement between the two of us. I paid the debt. What are my chances of collecting?
