What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Texas,
We filed in small claims for a dispute over over billing and damages to our home by general contractor. The gc pressured my wife into signing a blank contract to "negotiate with the insurance company". The gc filed a motion to compel and force us to a arbitration. The judge heard the motion hearing and decided in favor of us so now she will hear the case. What is the benefit of small claims vs Arbitration as a homeowner and if my claim is less than 10K should I seek legal represenation or gamble and continue to represent myself?
