What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California

I sold my car in California a couple months ago and the title is still in my name (the buyer never transferred it). Now I see the car advertised for sale on ebay. The buyer did not sign the title when I gave it to him. I did do a release of liability (which I saved a copy), and I also have evidence of the purchase amount deposited in my bank.

I now live in another state. Should I worry about this? The DMV seems to think it is the buyer's problem and not mine.
