What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? New York

I recently won a small claims case (new York county) and the defendant is still unwilling to pay.
In the course of discovering the assets of the defendant to provide to the sheriff for collection am I allowed to request the defendant's SSN?
If so, how would I go about this (besides the information subpoena, which also hasn't been returned).
