What is the name of your state? NC

A loan was made in 2000 with a promise to be paid in full on or by 6/30/01. (paper was signed)

The paper that was signed was lost because of a move but now it has been found. Is it to late to take them to court to sue for the amount of loan.

The statute of Limitations in North Carolina is:
3 years for oral agreements and written contracts and
5 years for promissory notes.

So, based on the breach date of 6/30/01, you have until at least 6/29/04 to file an action.... and until 06 if this is a true promissory note.
