What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? PA

I am a college student, and 10 days ago someone boke into my dorm room and stole me and my roommates laptops as well as some other property. This person was intoxicated and did not keep our property. Instead, he completely destroyed it beyond repair. This person was identified and admitted guilt, however, he has not made any attempt at reimbursing us for our losses. Approximately $2400 in damage was done to my property. We filed a police report 7 days ago with the local police.

My questions are: How do I go about recieving restitution for my losses? What do I do now? Does this fall under small claims court juridiction?
